The 2008 conference features keynote speaker Daniel Siegel, M.D. author of “The Developing Mind”
 Dan Siegel received his medical degree from Harvard University and completed his postgraduate medical education at UCLA with training in pediatrics and child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. He has served as a National Institute of Mental Health Research Fellow at UCLA, studying family interactions with an emphasis on how attachment experiences influence emotions, behavioral regulation, autobiographical memory and narrative processes. He is currently an associate clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine where he is on the faculty of the Center for Culture, Brain, and Development. He is also the Director of the Mindsight Institute, an educational organization that focuses on how the development of insight and empathy in individuals, families, and communities can be enhanced by examining the interface of human relationships and basic biological processes.

Meet the local team...

| Tim Higdon and Norene Gonsiewski in Portland |
|
Norene Gonsiewski, MSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the one of the owners of Portland Relationship Center and has been working with individuals, couples, families and groups since 1980. Norene is a weekend workshop presenter and a real champion of the Imago brand in Portland. She has been happily married to Tom for 28 years and a mother of two young adults who have loving and positive committed relationships. Norene loves couple work and relishes the idea of making Imago available to a diverse community.
Tim Higdon, MS, LPC, is a co-owner of Portland Relationship Center and Three River Center for Relationships. Tim has been an Imago therapist and advance Imago Clinician for 13 years. With Norene, Tim presents Getting the Love You Want and specializes in doing intensive work with couples in severe crisis. Tim’s long time marriage to Oregon artist Susan Luckey Higdon and his parenting of their two children has been his training ground for inspiring couples to do the hard work of making their relationship all that it can be. Tim’s passion is fly fishing and he invites all of you to stay on in Oregon with him and learn how to catch steelhead.
